GUSTAVO RUBEN VALENZUELA

Gustavo Ruben Valenzuela was born in the city of La Plata; in the Buenos Aires district of the Argentina Republic, as the first son of three brothers, in a middle-class family of a school teacher and a father hospital operator's heating system employee.

Gustavo grew up with the feeling that there was a huge world to be discovered and explored and that his country was so far away from the rest of the planet. He quickly focused his attention on Europe, where he felt the diversity of cultures living close to each other, the different languages and ways of living were exactly where he wanted to be!

He graduates in Finance (1982) and continued further his studies at the University, at the Escuela Superior de Periodismo y Comunicacion Social in a very difficult time in Argentina for a journalist; during the last period of the Military Junta of Dictators.

At an early stage, his life becomes a fight for his idealism, and dreams, surviving the facts of reality. He combined Finance, working in different kinds of jobs with theatre and Improvisation classes. He managed to attend the Theatre Institute's Escuela de Teatro La Plata' from 1982 to 1985 learning acting, drama and improvisation techniques on stage in the evening courses.

As his own signs, being a 'Pisces' and a 'Snake' according to the Chinese, his life is dedicated to art, oil painting, modeling, shining on a stage as an actor and on the other much rational side, doing Finances on different job opportunities. He was discovered in a very different time, without the internet, social media or mobile phones in a club in Buenos Aires and asked by a photographer for photographic modeling work.

He believes that any kind of art starts in the heart. "Passion is the essential ingredient!" Acting is a transformation, it takes imagination to think alike, how it would be to be in someone's else skin, it's a process; when you start acting like and feeling comfortable being, then you start becoming. And when he believes it, then you start believing in too!

In this industry, you never stop learning and improving yourself. In 2017 and 2018 he followed a workshop based on the 'Meisner Technique'

The technique is based in true play, Meisner said 'Acting is the ability to live truthfully under given imaginary circumstances' and the Refocus Method in 2019; for a more trustful play.

Gustavo is currently living in Amsterdam; he is being in a long time relationship and picked up recently his career working at this present moment as a full-time actor.

He is a two times winner award of ‘Best Male Actor’ in 2017 in The Netherlands and in 2018 in Los Angeles, USA. And recently in 2020, he received an award as 'Best Supporting Actor' for his role as Mario, the bodyguard of the family La Rosa in 'Capo di Famiglia II' and for ' Lost'
